Sloped Backyard
This is backyard a which situated on an upward slope. Therefore it was decided to go for a design layout which has create multiple terraces where each terrace provide different experience to user at different levels.
Variety of materials were used in different terraces providing distinct tactile and visual experience for the user.
The client’s main goal was to achieve a minimalistic design with simple and clean lines. Effects of the different hard landscape materials played a significant role in this project. Client wanted to emphasize the colours and textures of the different terraces from the colour scheme and planting palette.
A limited colour palette was used to accentuate the simplicity and elegance of the design. Similarly, a select number of plant species were chosen to complement the overall minimalist approach.

Go with the Flow
a simple backyard that turned into a space with several garden rooms that serve different functions.
Elevated plunge pool on the left back corner of the garden.
The stepping stone pathway leads you to the plunge pool.
Cozy lounge space with a built-in firepit where you can gather around on those breezy evenings.
Large alfresco dining area with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, which is perfect for hosting Sunday lunches.
And finally, a small lawn area that encourages kids to roll on it and play.

Verborgen tuin
This is a small backyard situated in a small township in the Netherlands. Initially, my scope was to create a layout for the backyard and to come up with a planting scheme. The client wanted to build a shaded pergola area in one corner but was uncertain about what to do with the rest of the space.
Therefore, we explored various design layouts to determine the most suitable option.
The final design featured a small lawn area with a single plant bed positioned at the rear of the backyard. Additionally, a brick-paved pathway was integrated to establish a seamless connection between the back gate and the patio adjoining the house.
